About my work life

Driven by a passion for making a difference, I spent the first thirty years of my career in education. As a History teacher and then education adviser specialising in equality, anti-bullying, and Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE), I championed the health and wellbeing of children and young people. I believe that learning can only flourish when everyone — students and the adults who support them — feels well, valued, and a true sense of belonging.

Throughout my career, I worked in partnership with colleagues locally and nationally across schools, health services, and community organisations, delivering training and guidance to a wide range of audiences.

Drawing on this experience, I launched my coaching practice in 2022. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive space where wellbeing can be explored with care. My approach recognises inequalities and actively promotes inclusivity.

Alongside my coaching work, I work as a caseworker and mediator with a community mediation service in Brighton.

My approach to coaching and my qualifications

About me

A person standing with arms outstretched on rocky terrain under a clear blue sky.

In mid-life and through menopause, I have been developing a range of strategies and techniques to help me manage the challenges and uncertainty of work, family, wellbeing and the world we live in. I practice gratitude, meditation and yoga and enjoy moving my body in ways which feel good. I enjoy spending time with friends, volunteering, swimming, reading, listening to podcasts, travel and rest. I am learning to speak Spanish.

Like us all I am a person of paradox and many parts, I am both confident and fearful I am not good enough. I am intuitive and sometimes clumsy. I am curious and sometimes opinionated. I am hard on myself, but learning to be softer, lighter and kinder. I am aware of my privilege and how lucky I am and know that I have experienced and will experience hard times. I both despair at the inequalities in the world and have hope. I am a skilled, compassionate coach and I have more to learn.

Coaching has been one important way that I support my internal system — both through being coached and in my growth as a coach. It helps me reconnect with Self energy: clarity, curiosity, compassion, and care. I am passionate about coaching others to find more ease and joy in this challenging world. and in different stages of my life have myself benefited from counselling, therapy and coaching.
